Powder Room Films Produced short film “37″ by Puk Grasten, expanded into feature film!

Thrilled that our very talented collaborator, Puk Grasten is making her first feature film!

“37″ based on the short film of the same name, which was produced in 2012 by Powder Room Films’ Isabella Wing-Davey premiered at Slamdance Film Festival in 2013, and starred Heather Lind and Lynn Cohen.

The short film was based on the murder of Kitty Genovese.


The feature film: Asger Hussain and Yaron Schwartzman of Game 7 Films are producing, Regner Grasten and Tove Grasten of Regner Grasten Film are exec producing. The film is co-funded by New Danish Screen, the new talent section under The Danish Film Institute.

Isabella Wing-Davey/The Rain Collector- shortlisted for Kevin Spacey Foundation Award

Thrilled to announce that Isabella Wing-Davey has been shortlisted for the Kevin Spacey Foundation Artist of Choice Award in June 2015 for her project, The Rain Collector.

KSF Artists of Choice is our pioneering funding and mentoring initiative for UK and US based emerging artists working in theatre, musical theatre, music, dance or film. Epitomizing KSF’s aim of ‘sending the elevator back down’ it will provide funding, year-round support and mentoring by industry heavyweights.

We received around 1,200 applications from emerging artists working across all five disciplines. Those shortlisted shone out in terms of creative potential, practical wherewithal and a demonstrable need for funding.

Matthew C Hart to edit “The Rain Collector”

Powder Room Films is thrilled to once again work with the fantastic Matthew C Hart, who is joining The Rain Collector team as our Editor.

Matthew C Hart:

Hailing from the United Kingdom, Matthew C. Hart is a filmmaker based in New York City.

He has edited feature films, shorts, commercials and documentaries, alongside his writing & directing projects. He worked on Noah Baumbach’s recent films, Frances Ha and Mistress America, and has just finished editing an original comedy series for DirecTV. The last short he edited Actor Seeks Role, won the Grand Jury Prize at IFFBoston, and has been featured in the New Yorker. He’s currently cutting a feature, Frank & Lola, starring Michael Shannon, Justin Long and Imogen Poots.

AFRONAUTS: international premiere at Berlinale 2014

Afronauts, a short film by Frances Bodomo, produced  by Isabella Wing-Davey at Powder Room FIlms, will have its international premiere at Berlinale 2014, following a few weeks on from its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2014, where it was well received.


The director, Frances Bodomo, as well as Producer, Isabella Wing-Davey, will attend the festival, where Frances Bodomo will also be taking part in the Berlinale Talent Campus.



AFRONAUTS by Frances Bodomo, Produced by Isabella Wing-Davey will have it’s world premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2014 in Park City Utah.

Selected from over 8,000 submissions, Afronauts will screen as one of 66 short films at the festival, which runs Jan 16-26th in Park City, Utah.


Isabella Wing-Davey selected as Film Independent Producing Lab Fellow for feature film FLOOD (by Katy Scoggin)

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization today announced the 9 projects (and 11 filmmakers) selected for the 2013 Film Independent Producing Lab. The Lab is an intensive six-week incubator designed to help producers working in independent film improve their craft and take their current projects to the next level in a nurturing yet challenging creative environment. Under the tutelage of the Lab Mentors Karin Chien, Lynette Howell, Ted Kroeber and Michael Roiff, the participants are advised on the art and business of producing and are also introduced to established producers and film professionals who serve as guest speakers and advisors. Fellows also get year round mentoring from FIlm Independent, access to the Producer’s Forum and LA Film Festival.

We’re thrilled to announce that “37″, Written and Directed by Puk Grasten, Produced by Isabella Wing-Davey, will play as part of the LIVE ACTION SHORTS competition at Slamdance Film Festival in Park City in January 2013.

Last week, Grasten and Wing-Davey attended a reception for filmmakers at the Directors Guild of America, met some great filmmakers and festival programmers and DGA people which was a great way to get into the spirit of the festival.

“Candlesticks” and “Oysters Rockefeller” at Illumination 2013 (Finland)

Isabella Wing-Davey and Charles Rogers were 2 of 3 filmmakers from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program sent to Helsinki to represent the program, screen their films and take part in The Helsinki Educational Film Festival 2013 (Illumination 2013).


The festival included film screenings and workshops with the three other film schools present: ELO (Helsinki Film School), RITS (Brussels film school) and The Norweigan Film School.

Part of the festival involved a workshop based on Dogville, creating scenes in black box environment, these were devised by students from all the film schools, working together. Wing-Davey and Rogers co-directed for their group, working with Finnish Actors.

So You’ve Grown Attached wrapped!

October 11th: wrapped principal photography on So You’ve Grown Attached.

One of the best props of the movie has got to be this amazing cake created by Mimi Bai (Production Designer) and Jen Overstreet (Art Director).


All the cast and crew signed it, and Madeleine Connor, our wonderful 12 year old lead took it home.
